Prashant Shah

Prashant Shah is an art lover who has dedicated his entire life towards making, promoting, and creating awareness about art. An alumnus of J. J. Institute of Applied Art, Prashant Shah has been running his advertising agency for the past 45 years and is amongst the first few to have developed an online art gallery in the 1990s and opened up a new platform to promote art and artists. Over the last five decades, he has evolved his own style across conceptual, abstract and impressionist forms and developed an astounding vocabulary of work, giving it his own distinctive language or technique. He has also exhibited his works in some prominent solo as well as group shows. Some of his prominent solo shows has been exhibited in Jehangir Art Gallery and Ahmedabad Lalit Kala Akademi, Bangalore ChitrakalaParishad and his works include diverse range of topics on conceptual figurative, Mahatmaseries, Jain Heritage, Gomateshwar, and quite a few abstract derivations. He also founded www.painternet.com one of India’s oldest online art galleries and served as Vice President of the prestigious Bombay Art Society.

His panache for creativity is displayed in his latest project that he created over the last two years of the pandemic honoring the contribution of individuals who made a difference. An installation project that depicts a transition from abstract to its realistic image made out of his paintings of eminent personalities across the globe. A set of over 200 painting installations are an art lover’s ode to capture the contributions made by people in various capacities through his compositions that take us from its abstract version to realistic.

Prashant Shah has always worked towards encouraging artists and analyzing their work helping them to develop it further and evolve a language in their paintings.
